Concept
Handpost Farm is a collection of four contemporary barn-inspired homes carefully arranged within a Green Belt setting. While each dwelling adopts its own architectural identity, the group is united through a shared language of simple forms, natural materials and carefully considered proportions.
The development reinterprets traditional rural buildings through a contemporary architectural approach, balancing openness, efficiency and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.
Masterplanning
The homes are positioned to create a small architectural cluster that responds to the character of the site while preserving views across the wider landscape. Careful spacing between buildings provides privacy whilst maintaining a sense of cohesion across the development.
Landscape and architecture are designed together, allowing the scheme to settle naturally within its rural setting.
Material Language
Zinc cladding and cedar cladding and carefully selected internal finishes create a consistent architectural language throughout the scheme. The restrained palette reinforces the contemporary barn aesthetic whilst ensuring durability and longevity.
Internally, vaulted ceilings, bespoke joinery and natural materials establish bright and generous living spaces.
